Steven T. Platten has been practicing law since 1977. A graduate of Boston College (B.S.) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D.), he has served as an Assistant State Attorney General and in-house counsel to several companies, including a PMI company and real estate holding firm. He is currently a partner in the Worcester firm of Millott and Platten LLP, specializing in real estate closings and corporate law. His Practice includes civil litigation and landlord and tenant matters.

Mr. Platten and the firm have acted as Settlement Agent and closing attorney for most major lenders, including Drew Mortgage, Wells Fargo,and Bank of America. They are authorized agents of both First American Title Insurance Company and Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.


Thomas P. Millott has been engaged in the general practice of law in Worcester, Massachusetts for nearly thirty years. He presently concentrates his private practice in the area of residential mortgage real estate financing and the buying and selling of 1-4 family residential property. He has broad experience in evaluating titles and resolving title problems; he is an authorized agent for First American Title Insurance Company and Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.

He has acted as a Settlement Agent and closing attorney for a number of Massachusetts licensed mortgage lenders and for Massachusetts and federally chartered banks. He also practices in the area of bank regulatory law serving as corporate general counsel to a mortgage company licensed as a lender and/or broker in Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Florida. He is experienced in federal and state regulation of mortgage banking and residential mortgage lending including broad experience with RESPA and the TRUTH-IN-LENDING LAW and the regulations promulgated pursuant to those laws.

In addition to his residential real estate practice, he has also practiced extensively in commercial, corporate and business law throughout his career. He is experienced in commercial bank loan documentation and the buying and selling of small businesses. He has acted as developer's counsel and bank counsel in real estate development projects presenting conveyancing issues, zoning and subdivision issues, and environmental law issues.

He has acted as corporate counsel and general counsel to many new and existing businesses providing advice on a variety of business, contract, employment, tax and employee benefit issues.
